ZIGZAGZURICH ARTIST COTTON BLANKETS COLLECTION 2018

ZIGZAGZURICH ARTIST COTTON BLANKETS COLLECTION 2018-ZigZagZurich

The new ZigZagZurich 2018 Cotton Towels and Blankets Collection adds an exciting new roster of artists from around the globe. From the dynamic work of NYC based artists Liz Collins, Harry Allen, Sarah Parke and Mark Barrow to the Swiss dream team of Moiré.

The new Collection is inspired by art and graphics – from Pop Art to Bauhaus movement, spray paint effects, clear & bold stripes and geometric overlapping. The shapes and the colours of the collection express the power of creativity with no limits, translated into textiles. ZigZagZurich creates art, for home and around, to live.

ZigZagZurich collaborates with artists and designers, both established and new, on unique collections transformed into textiles under the direction of creative director Michele Rondelli and the founders of ZigZagZurich.

Our next roster of artists in addition to our existing roster of talents includes:

Sarah Parke & Mark Barrow are New York based artists. With backgrounds in textiles and painting, their work manifests in a number of forms and has been widely exhibited in galleries and institutions in the US and Europe. Some of the art pieces are created by staining plain linen, which is then dethreaded and rewoven into two paintings (one wrap-derived; the other weft-derived) with completely new patterns.

Sophie Probst, a recent graduate from the Stuttgart Academy of Fine Art, has a long-standing fascination with traditional weaving and drawing, mixed with modern pattern design and coloration work. Liz Collins is an artist and designer living in Brooklyn, NY. Employing a range of natural to synthetic materials, incorporating vivid colours, dynamic patterns, emphasizing textures and inventive structures, Collins enjoys pushing the limits and doing the unexpected across the spectrum of textile media. Her artworks surround the viewer in vibrating colour fields to explore the boundaries between painting, fiber arts and installation. The cacophonic play of optics, texture, colour and scale, recreates her wavering experience of the world as a place of stupendous wonder and cosmic energy.
