Artist Wool Blankets Collection FW 18/19

The new ZigZagZurich Artist Wool Blankets Collection adds an exciting new roaster of artists from around the globe. From the experimental work of Mexico based artist Daniel Barreto to the Swiss works of Michele Rondelli and Sophie Probst. The new Collection is inspired by art & graphics - from Pop Art to Bauhaus, spray paint effects, clear and bold stripes and geometric overlapping. The new "twisted yarns" give a unique melange effect.

ZigZagZurich x MoonishCo - Brooklyn Heads to Zurich

Our latest artist collaboration to be announced is the Brooklyn duo of Moonish.  The work of Matt and Giovanna caught our attention in its simplicity and beauty and how it had been applied within their studio reportage.  Moonish works covers an array of work and applications - from hand crafted wall tiles to lighting, wallpaper and beyond.   The wall tiles and the artwork they create have been featured in the press around the world, recognised by the likes of Architectural Digest, Interior Design magazine and beyond.  The duo current are showing at the Triode Paris show here

The first items to launch in the ZigZagZurich x Moonish collection are based on two themes of work:

TAG COLLECTION - STEMMING FROM STUDIO EXPERIMENTS WITH SPRAY PAINT AND PLANT LIFE, THE TAG SERIES DRAWS INSPIRATION FROM STREET ART. PAINT PARTICLES DRIFT ACROSS THE SURFACE, CREATING A LAYERED, ETHEREAL BOTANICAL PORTRAIT.

GRAPH - EVOCATIVE OF BLUEPRINTS, THE GRAPH DESIGN'S GRID LINES CREATE A SUBTLE, DELICATE TEXTURE.  SIMPLE GEOMETRIC PATTERNS COMPLEMENT ANY INTERIOR WITH TIMELESS ELEGANCE

Responsibility, reusability, multifunctionality, modularity. Reinventing how people are going to live and work. Thinking in terms of beauty and design on large scale. Art integrated with engineering as a means to redefine the world we live in.

Natalie Born Bio Below:

Natalie is an illustrator and designer currently living in Switzerland. Her work is a playful exploration of humorous characters, whimsical animals and graphic botanicals that crosses over from fashion into art, influenced by her own unique humour and character.

By cutting, pasting, slicing, manipulating and coloring paper into simple shapes and forms, she experiments with hybrids and contrasts that curiously fascinate her, finding endless possibilities . She loves to continuously create and invent, finding it necessary to be hands on with her work while using her beloved scalpel, pattern-cutting tools, fine-liners, brush pen, colourful markers, adhesive-roll and correction tape.

Natalie’s illustrations reflect her long time involvement and passion with fashion, starting from her studies at St. Martin’s College of Art & design in London, a celebrated school where she also lectured. Her sketchbooks embody treasures where her artistic innovations and narrations are let loose and developed. These unique paper-cut illustrations, linear drawings, doodles and patterns are then fine-tuned to form compositions which are used as prints for textiles, stationery and apparel.
