Nathalie Du Pasquier is an artist and designer based in Milan, renowned for her work in furniture, textiles, jewellery, and her iconic decorations and patterns inspired by African art and music. In Milan, she met designer George Sowden, and in 1981, designer and architect Ettore Sottsass invited them to become founding members of the Memphis Group. They were known for working under the motto "form follows fun."
Since then, Du Pasquier has shifted her focus to her solo career as a painter and sculptor, while George Sowden has maintained his design studio. Both continue to surprise with an unlimited sense of creativity, defining the Zeitgeist of their respective fields. Following extensive research into new lighting concepts, Sowden has introduced his first lighting collection, SHADES. This series includes ceiling, table, and floor lamps, as well as a range of battery-powered designs suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
