Daniel Spacek for ZigZagZurich
What are the sheep dreaming about? How many surrealists can you squeeze into a drawer? These and other questions Daniel Špaček tries to answer in his intensive work. Based in Prague (Czech Republic), Daniel Špaček is a curious illustrator with a widespread interest finding inspiration everywhere he looks. Every project is a source of challenges, learning, fun and surprises. For him, illustration is a way to discover and describe the ideas of the limitless universe of imagination. He is happiest when drawing illustrations for little kids but in fact for kids of all ages! Meeting with his inner child is the most important part of his attitude to creative work. Imaginative journeys where illustration can tell stories without words come frequently alive in animations and music.
Besides his freelance illustrator career Daniel Špaček is also the co-founder of multimedia boutique agency ‘Loom of the Moon’ which produces interdisciplinary works ranging from animations, motion design for television and corporate branding to architecture.
Additionally, Daniel Špaček explores the world of music and sounds and as a director of an electromagnetic circus called ‘Mythematica’ he composed colourful album in 2009, where you can hear imaginative visuals and stories turned into chillout music. His work for a Czech TV kids channel was awarded by PromaxBDA award in 2014 as the best illustration on air.
ZigZagZurich collaborates with artists and designers, both established and new, on unique collections transformed into textiles under the direction of creative director Michele Rondelli and the founders of ZigZagZurich.
