Wool & Bamboo Silk Rugs and Carpet "Panot" by Rafael Parga
Panot Artist Wool & Bamboo Silk Rug by Rafael Parga
The new ZigZagZurich Artist Carpet & Rug collection celebrates original artwork woven into luxury rugs & carpets for the floor or the wall.
In “Panot” Rafael Parga wanted to express the relationship between his two cities, Barcelona and Zurich. He took the well-known floor tile from Barcelona, often referred to as the “Flower of Barcelona” and commonly referred to as “Panot” by locals. To abstract this rigid design, he experimented with different dimensions and started by abstracting its shape and size, passing from digital to analog, using ink, implementing the human factor, and therefore giving it an intentional imperfection. We then proceeded to digitalize the paintings and added the Blue tones that represent the connection to Zurich. In this way, the work gets transformed and evolves at every step.
Using a combination of wool and bamboo silk, the carpets are woven in Europe using the highest quality looms making them luxurious to the touch yet long-lasting / hard-wearing. We transform original art which supports the artists directly with every product sold.
Each sq meter contains 820,000 points. The carpet is finished with a non-slip finish underneath. The bamboo silk pile has the feel of real silk - soft and durable.
