Justin Morin

Colorful, almost transparent silks, chrome metals, and mirrored surfaces: French artist Justin Morin's practice references major movements in art history. His approach to sculpture emphasizes the expressive qualities of the materials he uses to bring a sensual, almost erotic dimension to an initially disembodied vocabulary. The gradient colors he uses come from images drawn from popular culture, whether movie posters, album covers, or advertising campaigns. Alongside his sculptures, Justin Morin is developing other areas of research that question the place of the decorative.
