Ilze Godlevkis

feature-row__image

Ilze Godlevkis is a contemporary textile artist celebrated for her soft sculptures that explore human connection through sensorial perception and energy. Blurring the boundaries between art and design, her work weaves colour and textile into the fabric of contemporary life.

Born to Latvian parents and raised as a first-generation Canadian, Ilze studied Fashion and Knitwear at Central Saint Martins in London before refining her skills in Milan, apprenticing under a traditional Italian knitwear master.

Today, she has transformed her craft into a dedicated textile arts practice, creating sculptural works for exhibitions as well as custom interior design pieces. From her Milan studio, Ilze continues to push the possibilities of textiles, shaping them into tactile narratives that invite both reflection and connection.
