Polkip for ZigZagZurich
Graphic designer Polly Forbes-Gower, aka Polkip, creates incredibly vivid illustrations that blend her eye for detail with her love for patterns. The UK-based illustrator produces stark, flat backgrounds that make way for a variety of animals covered in playfully ornamental designs.
Polkip’s drawings capture the essence of each creature, and the images convey an eerie sense of quiet within the tranquil, natural environments. Her vibrant shapes and colors pop out against dark, solid backgrounds as the elegant creatures flaunt repetitive, abstract exteriors. There is a haunting beauty in the simplicity of the many scenes as the large, furry and feathery faces gaze off into the distance or stare directly back at the viewer with great intensity.
ZigZagZurich collaborates with artists and designers, both established and new, on unique collections transformed into textiles under the direction of creative director Michele Rondelli and the founders of ZigZagZurich.
