Todd Schulz is an autodidactic artist living in British Columbia, Canada. He works in series using a systematic approach to art making. Generally speaking, he makes rules which define the thematic attributes of a body of work, and then endeavors to contravene those very rules to explore the bounds of the given theme. Although he is primarily a painter, his artistic process also includes collage, new media, and various printmaking techniques. Schulz’s geometric works are often described as austere, clean, vivid, colorful, harmonious, and calming.
