Todd Schulz

Canadian artist Todd Schulz is a system-based abstractionist whose work explores structure, clarity, disruption, and drift. He learns through qualitative emulation and is attuned to Wabi Sabi’s principles of nurturance and natural simplicity. His work stems from a curiosity about process, with a focus on developing novel techniques and unorthodox colour relationships.

Schulz emphasizes clarity of form and material presence, employing repetition, shifts, reversals, and omissions to complicate symmetry and introduce perceptual ambiguity. These methods create space for observational counterpoints and nuanced visual relationships.
